Broncos

49'ers
October 19th
On a Southwest plane bound for Denver, Colorado. A place I had never been. Ty had been to the DIA once when he had a layover for his mission. Flying East was so much prettier than flying West. There are sooo many mountains, lakes and rivers.
Once at the airport we ate some lunch then headed to this so called 'train' I had heard of. It was kind of funky to board a train inside a building.
We haven't ridden in a taxi since our honeymoon (uh more than 7 years ago) so we were both a bit hesitant but it worked out.
Kidane - our cooky cab driver. Seriously, the speedometer in the taxi didn't even work. I'm pretty sure there was one point we were going 60 mph in a 30 mph zone. Brakes were only applied at the very last possible moment.
Hello Downtown Denver.
Sports Authority Field = Enormous and Amazing
We only had a short 10-15min walk from the place we stayed to the stadium. Our walk was through quaint little neighborhoods that at one point reminded me of a slightly older Daybreak.
The sidewalks were weird. Suddenly they would just end in someone's driveway.
Upon arriving at the stadium parking lot, I couldn't help but notice the dude rolling himself a joint. So weird how it's just a state away but one law can make it feel different. Anyways, as we saw the stadium we both started to get really excited. I couldn't stop laughing for some reason.
Pizza, churros and Dasani waters (without the caps because apparently they are a projectile object so the cashier had to take them off for us) for dinner.
Getting to our seats we met everyone around us and they were all really nice, joking to Ty who was sporting his 49'ers shirt how sorry they were for him. Our seats were awesome and I couldn't have been happier about hearing that because of the likelihood of Peyton Manning breaking the all time NFL touch down pass record our seats were now worth triple what we paid back in August for them.
The pre game show was entertaining with 5 parachuters landing on the field, fireworks, the color guard and the attractive and extremely Baritone voice of Trace Adkins singing the National Anthem. His voice rumbled the stadium.
The game was less than desirable for any 49'er fan. However, to be there for the NFL record breaking moment was epic and I couldn't have picked a cooler game in that regard. It was a blow out score, so much that the second string teams were all playing by the end. The dude that was sitting on the other side of Ty was about as entertaining as the game itself. He was thoroughly amused that we were Mormons and had never had a drink or smoked pot. In his opinion the Mormons and the Jehovahs Witnesses are the best religions out there because we 'help' people the most. Throughout the game he tried convincing us to have a drink and the more drunk he got the more foul his mouth was. Despite being a really foul drunk he was really funny and talked to us the whole time and by the end he told us that every Mormon he has ever met (even the Mormons he claims to have drank with) has always been top notch and really great people.
The weather was perfect. We didn't even need our coats until the 4th quarter and even then a jacket would've been fine.
| You are so welcome! |
3:40 AM then a full day of work on a Monday for me. Ty got to work from home... lucky!
The flight home was cool. I'd never flown at night and it was neat to see the runway all lit up.
Arriving home 20 minutes earlier than expected helped he day go by a ton smoother.
Mom and Dad brought Brynlee and I saw her for all of 2 seconds before I had to leave for work.
Monday proved to be a long day but it was well worth the early morning and late night at the game.
Especially because of the huge smile on Ty's face.
