Happy 13 years to us. Man time flies. Ty was working from home it was nice to kind of just hang out together. Photo cred goes to Brynlee haha!
More face masks. This one was funny because Brynlee couldn't get it off and it hurt to peel it off too. So, like a good mom I just took pictures instead of helping.
Last day of school was weird. It was like a drive by, pick up your stuff, say good bye to your teacher and that was it. Kind of sad the kid didn't get to say goodbye to her class or have the end of year festivities like usual. We turned in Brynlee's Chromebook that we are so lucky still works because she dropped it after being told many times to not walk around with it.
Aspire Her Conference. 2 days of inspo and support from all different ladies. So awesome to be part of the first one. It's like a giant pep talk for women and business owners. I loved how empowered I felt afterwards and how it opened my eyes to the need society has for women to speak up and aspire to be more, but in that same breath I want to say that they don't need us to be more, we just need to be ourselves and actually do the things we dream of and aspire to be. The world needs that. The female community is strong and thriving and we can do so much more! I was put in charge of a discussion group and that was a bit outside my comfort zone and didn't get a ton of participation but it helped me feel needed an important. During the conference, I learned how multitasking actually is not efficient which inspired me to purchase a small desk for me to do work in my massage room. This will allow me to be more efficient and spend time with my family when it's family time and get my work done when it's time to work. Also, I learned, mom takes care of everyone but who takes care of mom? I learned to say what you DO want, not what you DON'T want. Women need to ask themselves, "What would a man do?" It changes the answer most of the time. Also, one of the most important things I took away from this was from Dr. Julie Hanks. She said, "Save guilt for sin." Mom guilt is real and it's an inaccurate. So many golden nuggets of truth were given to me that weekend. Now, how to apply them right? It's the application that's a little evasive. And of course Toby isn't ever far away.
This poor dog hates his bath and just shakes the whole time. After he's all nice and clean he looks so much better though. Also, he gets a gold star for dealing with Brynlee and her silly shenanigans.
Going back to in person classes and getting to teach with this beautiful red head was such a treat! We traded off studio and zoom classes for awhile and it was hard but so awesome to be back together again!
Pea season!!!!! It's my absolute favorite and I just can't get enough of them. They're so good!
A quarantine project. I had been wanting to put these pics up in my home somewhere but this was a perfect fit.
We finally got a tramp! I was up late after High Fitness on a Tuesday night and thought I'd check Wayfair to see if they had any. I was checking all different places all throughout the day for weeks and weeks. I seriously doubted they would have anything but they did! So I bought it! The kid loves it and I am so excited to have it. Ty isn't so thrilled since it makes mowing the lawn a little more complicated and time consuming cause he has to move it. Plus he says it is killing his lawn. We've talked about making a small gravel pad and just leaving it in one place so he doesn't have to move it. We will see if that happens. It would mean less watering and less grass to mow.
Naps under the newly covered deck. We still need to finish the underside and I used my birthday gift cards to buy an outdoor fan we need to install but then the big undertaking will be to sand and paint the deck. We did it last year but it didn't stick well. Maybe we didn't sand it well enough?
Huge project #... well I stopped counting. Fencing in the garden. Oh my word. This was big for us. I researched fencing for hours and hours and decided on a type of fence that you pound in an anchor pole for each post and then set the vinyl post over the anchor pole. Figured that would be sturdy and fairly easy. Nope, definitely not. What I failed to realize is that Herriman soil is the worlds rockiest piece of earth and the first pole didn't even make it a foot in the ground before we hit a boulder that was the size of Texas. We spent so much time trying to dig around that thing, drill into it, break it in pieces and once we finally got it out (it took both of us) there was a gigantic hole left in the ground. It sits in the garden now as a 'decoration' rock next to the one we dug out of the flower garden behind the house and then rolled in to the garden. Ty gets so frustrated with this kind of stuff but it just makes me laugh. We eventually got to the point that we were hitting too many rocks so we bought some concrete and put the poles in that way so we didn't have to dig down so far. This project took way longer than it should have. We had to move sprinklers, put in a ground/grass barrier, pound/concrete in the poles. Leveling it out was probably one of the hardest parts because our yard slopes and we couldn't agree on whether to put an entrance on the south side of the fence or not too. My idea won out and we ended up with an opening which will be nice and maybe eventually we can do a gate or an arched trellis with crawling flowers or something around it. We were so dirty, sweaty and sore but it looks so good and makes the yard look more put together. Ty really wants to move my peach tree but I won't let him. It'll kill it and I love that tree. We've had borers in it though so I've had to spray it so it won't die. The peaches we get from it are so good though. Never been a fan of peaches until I had them from my own tree. Yum!
All husbands walk around with their daughters puppy umbrellas while they fix the sprinklers right? Oh just mine? Ok.
Father's Day at Uncle Ty Ty's.
Celebrating the kickoff of Summer! Complete with popsicles!

Crystal taught a bunch of outdoor classes and I was only able to go once or twice. They were all themed classes and this one was MTV and all 90's stuff. Such a fun time!
Texas Roadhouse dinner with these babes. A girls night out was just what I needed. Tisha and I stood in the parking lot chatting afterwards and talked and talked. So fun to have new friends and keep old ones too.

Auntie Britty has been coming around more often lately and Brynlee has soaked it up for sure. I love that Britty can be silly and still plays with the kids too. I hope she keeps coming around more often. We love it when she comes over.

St. Geezy (actually it's Hurricane) with the Lawrence crew. Had to get a pedi with Brynlee before we went down there. I struggled with this one a bit because Ty needed to work and decided he couldn't come down until Friday night and we were all going on Thursday but I didn't want to have two cars down there so we hitched a ride with the Williamsons and I have concluded I am too old to sit in the back of a car. I was feeling slightly car sick by the time we hit Lehi so that made for a fun ride down. Once we were down there we had such an amazing time. I read Tiger's Curse that Britt bought for me and if I remember right I believe I finished it. The house Mimi and Papa rented for us had a pool and everyone had their own bedrooms. I didn't like spending the night away from Ty but I stayed up and read basically the whole night so it was fine. Brynlee and Mc shared a room. Mc wanted the bunk beds and Brynlee got the queen size bed all to herself. The guys golfed one day while all the girls swam and swam. Britt came with me to a High Fitness class that Saturday morning and we had a good time. We spent a good amount of time watching Ty throw the football to the kids as they jumped in the pool and tried to catch it. We slo mo videoed it and it was pretty funny to see their faces. Soaked up so much sun and sang all the words to all the songs. We also did a bit of High Fitness in the pool when the appropriate songs came on. I love my family. We're all pretty cool. Did some dindin at a restaurant in LaVerkin and it had these cool glass bottles outside. We watched a Mama horse and her baby run around the pasture next door while the owners tried to catch them. That mama was having none of that.
A small glimpse of the curtains hung up on the deck with Britt outside jumping on the tramp with Brynlee. The deck is coming along but I don't think we will be finishing it until next summer. Hopefully I'll be back to working and we will have a bit more cash flow to get it all repainted and finish the ceiling.
Brynlee had tryouts for a new SLC FC team. It was a bit worrisome for a minute there because she was going to a team that had been playing together for at least 2 years and we weren't sure there would be a spot for her but it all worked out and she made it. We're looking forward to her playing on a team with girls her own age and seeing her progress.
I also did another business class/conference called the $100 grand Tea Party. I have big dreams to eventually get my business income to $100k. It's doable I just have to change up the way I do some things and wait for this pandemic to go away so I can get back to working. I also finally have started the legal journey to make contracts for my business which is kinda crazy for me. 10 years in and I'm barely doing some of these things. Better late than never though.
