Sleeping Beauty, Merryweather and the Stick Figure

Alas...
the holidays are among us.
It is hands down my favorite time of year.
Summer is a close second but especially having Brynlee,
the magic of the holidays just can't be beat.

At Aunt Sandra's Preschool.
Brynlee was Princess Aurora for Halloween this year.
They did a program which consisted of Halloween songs a parade and introduction of each kid.
Now I need to explain a little something here.....
The Sunday before Halloween was the Primary Program.
Brynlee was so excited and she said her part PERFECTLY!
She didn't need any help at all and she spoke nice and clear. I was so proud of her.
She sang the first couple songs that she knew and then quickly grew bored.
A bored child ALWAYS tries to entertain themselves somehow.
Brynlee chose to take off her necklace and started playing with it so I mouthed the word, "No" and little did I know the trauma that would ensue.
She started crying, ran down the steps, the aisle and to our bench.
Still she wouldn't stop so I had to take her out.
Her excuse, "I was tired." Guess we better go take a nap then huh?
That just made it worse.
Next time I will think twice about softly reprimanding my child in front of an entire audience.
Onto her Halloween party at school....
SHE SANG EVERY SONG!!!!!!
Guess she likes Halloween songs better than Primary songs.

Our beautiful little Princess

Aurora, Merryweather and the Stick Figure.
I made my hat and cape.
Ty never seems to amaze me at what he can throw together last second.
Clever, indeed.
Holidays wouldn't be complete without some girl time.
Even though I was deathly ill I didn't want to miss out on these beautiful ladies.
Brynlee even got to come this time and I was impressed with her little pumpkin.
Many thanks to Erica for providing the bounteous amounts of crafts.

The pumpkin fun started with girls night, then continued at Mimi and Papa's.
Ty loves carving intricate pumpkins, me not so much. I prefer the simple ones so as not to frustrate me or take up too much party time. He really does a good job.
This year he picked Princess Cinderella and a Minion from Despicable Me.
They are both pretty amazing in my opinion.

Trick-or-treating with the cousins is always a treat. Dev, Mc, Brynlee and K all had unlimited amounts of candy and fun to go along with. Running from house to house Brynlee only tripped up once which was surprising considering the poofy dress and the speed to get to the next house. Ty and I had planned to go to a party that night for just a bit with Brynlee but when I told her we needed to leave she looked up at me with the sweetest look on her face and said, "But mommy, I want to play with my cousins."
I about bawled. Wait, I definitely cried. For some reason that pierced my soul.
My precious little girl just wanted to play with some of her favorite people in the whole world.
Let's not forget to mention that a minutes drive in the car would have put her right to sleep and then waking her up to go in to a party would've ruined the night!
There will be other parties for us to go to but she will only be little like this for a little longer.
Don't wake a sleeping princess. It could be the last thing you ever do!
