The old adage says that March comes in like a Lion and out like a Lamb.
Well....
This year is all LION. If you catch my drift.
It started with Brynlee getting bit in the face by a dog, the furnace going out and many other fun things that we all LOVE to happen. The rest of the year has been just as crazy (no more injuries though) and it will continue to be so.
It just keeps getting better!!!!
Here we are in March and I have yet to even announce that Brayden and Alina will be getting hitched this year in October!
He proposed on Superbowl Sunday and we all got to be there to witness him drive his pride and joy aka his remote controlled jeep up to her with the ring beset the antenna.
It was neat to be a part of that.
Ty actually caught on to what was happening before I did which really impressed me.
Aline is an awesome addition to the family and we love her so much!
Valentine's was less than exciting this year but that's ok.
Ty learned how to make a simple folded up heart from a piece of paper on which he wrote a lovely letter to me and that is ALL I needed. However, he did attempt to make up for deceiving me at Christmas time at the Lawrence family white elephant gift exchange by giving me a Goonies t-shirt.
We spent some time at Scheels and rode the ferris wheel which was less than fun for Ty but he's a trooper and did it anyways for me and Brynlee.
For Auntie Tisha and Uncle Markers birthday this year we decided to steal the kids from them so they could have some peace and quiet and be able to enjoy a weekend to themselves before baby #3 gets here and all chaos and bedlam breaks loose.
YAY for Cousin Sleepovers!
Bath time, sliding down the stairs on their behinds, matching night gowns for the girls, playing at the playground, ice cream, crashing under the bunk bed to a movie, tantrums, reading books, messes, lots more dirty dishes than usual and lots of silliness.
I LOVE having these three together. The girls are finally getting the idea of what a sleepover is. It's hard to believe the girls are only a year apart in age because they for sure don't look like it.
Side note: I'm so glad Kingston is getting a baby brother so he has a BOY to play with. The girls just run off and play without him and he tries so hard to keep up.
Since Brynlee's birthday is in the summer her school celebrated her half birthday.
She was the boss the whole day. Her poster says
B - bubbly, beautiful, bright
R - caRing
Y - girlY
N - daNcer
L - pinkaLicious
E - energEtic
E - sweEt
Mom and Dad got to come to her school that day. We brought Toby and Mom read a Pinkalicious book called Tickled Pink to the whole class. Brynlee got to hold the flag for the Pledge of Allegiance, wear a crown and decide how long the kids that were being naughty had to hang on the hook (you said 6 days). I think it may have confused you just a bit about when your real birthday is. We brought rice krispie treats with pink sprinkles on them for your birthday treat.
Top left: holding the flag at school for the Pledge of Allegiance. It boggles my mind how tiny you are compared to all your classmates.
Top right: being silly with mama.
Bottom left: Superbowl Party cupcakes at Mimi's. Packed with gummy bears she was already on a sugar high.
Middle right: Comfy much? Being Ty is so 'Ty'-ring.
Bottom right: This girl and her pup. She mauls him, smothers him and loves on him ALL the time.
As of February 21st we have been in our home for 3 years. What a time we've had too. It's crazy to think that much time has gone by living here. We love this little house and will be sad to leave it eventually. Brynlee was 18 months old when we moved here. This will be the house she remembers from most of her childhood.
Grandpa Donut and Grandma Cookie came by the end of February and brought some KFC and good company. I love my Grandparents and have been fortunate to have had them be a part of my life.
More fun festivities, Vintage Whites Market, Setebello's and Devon's Birthday party.
We got to celebrate Dev's 7th birthday party - Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles style. Brynlee loves to play and had so much fun. I was surprised by how hard she hit the pinata.
Although she be but little, she is fierce!
That brings us to St. Patrick's Day.
With green chucks and cheetah leggings and face painted with a 4 leaf clover she was set.
The leprechaun was sneaky and made our chocolate chip cookies GREEN!
She couldn't believe it!
I love how every little thing is exciting, even mesmerizing for my little bug.
It's special to see her eyes light up at the simplest things.
We have been set apart as a Ma and Pa and have been assigned our families for Trek! Planning is well underway and I am stoked to be a part of such a wonderful event!
Ty is in the final week of class #19. Which means he has 2 classes left! 11 weeks!
I hope we never forget how hard this has been and that we appreciate the time we will have together once he is graduated as well as the non-crockpot dinners. Actually being able to make a main dish with a side and have it be baked or broiled or grilled will be amazing! This is a rarity at our house right now.
It's really the little things.
