Building a home...
This is what I asked him to get me for Christmas.
Bookshelves!
Can I just say he was in heaven. He got a saw for Christmas he really wanted to use anyways, so this was a perfect excuse. I'm proud of his self taught handyman skills and that he loves to build things.
I actually let him cut some of the wood inside the family room... If that doesn't prove I've chilled out over the years I don't know what would. Saw dust everywhere!
Might as well paint too. It was time for a change. Brynlee loved helping with this part.
The couches are also missing. That was a fun adventure! Not having a couch for a couple of weeks was weird!
Haven't decided how to decorate the walls yet, so the final pictures will be coming, hopefully soon.
One of the original shelves for the family room was measured wrong and didn't fit quite right (wouldn't be a real project without a hiccup or two). Since we didn't want to waste it, we put it in Brynlee's toy room. Fit nicely and was much needed.
What's not shown is Ty also built a shelf in the toy room closet for some of my work stuff plus there is a hidden shelf behind the toy room door for more movies and our internet box, etc.
It's really fun to build things together. We've gotten a lot better at it over the years. I like spending time with him, doing productive things that we can enjoy and can feel accomplished.
