The month of love could seriously not have been more jammed and packed with stuff!
We finally made it up to Midway for our Soldier Hollow tubing activity with the Lawrence crew.
It was the perfect temperature. Funniest moment = Cash's face plant and being drug under his tube. He took it like a champ! Brynlee got water in her boots so her socks were literally dripping wet by the time we were done. Which meant the bottoms of her pants were soaked as well but we couldn't convince her to take them off. She thought it was weird that I changed my pants in the truck too! Ah well.
I love this little fam of mine.
That look on his face.... someone must've said something interesting.
February must've been all about Ty.
This is the longest he's ever had a goatee and honestly it's the longest goatee he's ever had as well.
Long enough to put it in elastics haha!
Also, the drawing is from a friend at church whose daughter Tyler taught in Primary.
Apparently they think he looks like this character from some TV show and his name is Thomas. He is a really nice guy but turns out to be a Russian Spy. Pretty accurate description for Ty I think.
For Valentine's Day we refinanced our house and I convinced (not quite sure how) Ty to come to the High Fitness class that night. Oh man, it made me the happiest girl on the planet! Seriously, I couldn't stop smiling for like the first three songs, until I had to focus on breathing and not peeing my pants. It was the best Valentine's present he could have given me!
Valentine's Party at Mimi's full of games, sugar, fun and cousins of course!
We had the Williamson kiddos Fri-Sun and it's always a blast to have them come stay. Enzo was a charmer and slept good in the pack and play. Kingston really didn't wake up that early and we only had a couple of fights. Ha! We let them play outside and they got dirty and laughed and wore themselves out. Enzo had to wear some of Brynlee's jackets and such, which is kind of tradition for some reason (last time it was leggings). We went to Chick-Fil-A and saw the cow which Enzo thought was weird at first and then couldn't stop giving him high fives after he warmed up. It seems the timing of our church cleaning assignment always falls on the same weekend we have the Williamson kids and for real, they love it. Enzo helped me vacuum. The rest of the kids just played around in the gym with the other kids that were there.
We did the Super Bowl at Uncle TyTy's and Auntie Jade's house this year and it was cozy, lots of good food and Ty won the prize for guessing the right team and the closest score.
We also watched May May for a few hours one day too.
I ate lunch with Brynlee at school one Friday and surprisingly, she thought it was the coolest thing ever! Which made me happy. I went out to recess with her and her friends and when they couldn't think of anything to do after their game of freeze tag, I suggested Hands Up Stands Up and they loved it so much they played it the rest of recess. Brynlee has come home several times since and said they played that at recess.
Saryn, Candace and Brynlee in the tent inside their classroom during Campout week. We got a post card in the mail from Brynlee saying she was having a blast at camp!
On the 100th day of school they used an app and took pics of all the kids to see what they would look like when they were 100 years old and they were posted in the hall. Oh. My. Gosh! I couldn't stop laughing. This picture is hilarious! It says, "I will not go very many places. I will watch tv. I will walk slow. I will walk with a cane." So hilarious! When Brynlee and I walked by it together one day, she got all embarrassed and didn't want me to look at it! I LOVE it! Cutest little old lady I ever did see!
Ty, for some reason, took this picture of Brynlee. One of the best places to read?
On a side note: February marked the first time I wasn't home in time when Brynlee got home from school. We had previously discussed what she should do if Mom or Dad weren't home but that was awhile ago and I think she forgot. Lucky for us, the crossing guard that crosses by our house is a GEM of all GEMS! When Brynlee got out of school Jan the crossing guard told Brynlee that if we weren't home she could come stand with her until we got there. Well she did just that because I messed up and wasn't home. When she saw me pull in, my brave daughter ran into my arms, I picked her up and profusely apologized from the bottom of my heart over and over again. As soon as I picked her up she started crying. It was like she was brave until she knew she was safe and didn't have to be anymore. We just sat on the porch hugging for a half an hour. It was an oddly warm day so it was actually pleasant to sit out there with her. Surely it takes a village to raise a child.
I gave blood this month and had a weird experience. Other than I didn't hear them call my name so I was there forever, I almost passed out!! Yeah, it was super crazy. I don't think I was hydrated so it really did a number on my body. I got super hot, sweaty, pale, my stomach was queasy among other things. I filled the bag ok but I didn't trust myself to drive home so Ty and Brynlee walked to the Stake Center to come get me. I woke up the next morning feeling so sick and I slept pretty much all day! I did not feel like myself for weeks! Not sure I'll be donating much anymore. Which makes me sad because I've always liked to donate as a way to help people.
We helped the Williamsons move out of their home in West Jordan. So grateful to get to serve. They are far away in Herriman now and it makes me a little sad they won't be as close. That day marked the day Ty proposed to me 10 years ago. It was kinda rainy which is always a bummer to move stuff in but we survived and made it out with only a few minutes to spare.
Something really cool we started this month is the Self Reliance Initiative the LDS church has started. We chose the category of Starting and Growing a business. Really it should be How to grow your testimony and be a successful business owner. It seriously has been awesome. A lot of work but really great. It's taught me how intertwined the Gospel and my business ventures can and should be. Ty has been more involved in the incomings and outgoings of my business and I feel like we should start calling it our business. It's a safe space to talk business without having to leave out the spiritual side of things and I've learned so much. It's helped motivate me to JUST DO IT! This class was what made me ultimately decide to sign up to become a High Fitness Instructor. It's been a huge blessing in our lives and are grateful we've had the chance to do it. The timing is a tender mercy and is proof the Lord knows us and wants what's best for us. Looking forward to learning more in the few weeks we have left.
This month marks a year ago that Grandpa Thomas died. Strange to think it's been that long but how fast it's gone. Wonder what kinds of things he has accomplished in this past year, how much he's learned and how much we don't even realize he's been around to help us all.
