May Flowers

May began with a field trip to a small local farm here in Herriman. The first thing we learned is there is pig hair in pizza dough. Sick! A quick google search confirmed it.

Brynlee's class did their classroom Town Days. We all helped her make perler beads to sell and she sold every single one of them and made the most money in the whole class!

Mother's Day and Dayne's blessing day.
Ty gave me two tickets (one for me and one for Brynlee) to Hale Center Theater to see Newsies in July. It will be so fun to take Brynlee on a Mama Daughter date. He made me breakfast in bed on Saturday because the blessing was early. After I got back from High Fitness I laid back down and when I woke up again he had made me french toast. Brynlee was really confused as to why he brought me breakfast and we had her convinced for a bit that it was my birthday.
Justin and Makinzie's ward is my old stomping grounds from when I lived in Hearthstone. It's such a tiny chapel and it brought back lots of memories.

Love this girl so much. Sleeping pictures are just the best aren't they?

Leila got to stay late one school night and they snuggled in Brynlee's bed for awhile. Leila started to miss her mama so she went downstairs and snuggled with Ty instead. That was hard for Brynlee. It sparked a conversation about why she doesn't have siblings. She gets super emotional about it.

31 years in the books for me. One year older and hopefully wiser too. I feel the older I get, the more I see and the less I know.
It was a good day spent doing lots of things I love with people I love. Ty took the day off. When I walked downstairs Brynlee was eating breakfast and in the sweetest singing voice wished me a happy birthday and it was the best start to my day. Once we sent Brynlee off to school we headed to Penny Anne's for some Heavenly Hot Cakes, hit up Kohl's for a bit of shopping, saw Infinity War, then it was a quick stop to pick up a birthday work out getup, snagged an Ecobee on the way home and got back in time for Brynlee to get home from school. I ended my day teaching High with all my favorite people and my favorite High songs on the playlist.

A card from my brother Tyler. It's his thing to give good bday cards.

My magnetic spice rack I got was pretty cool and all as an adult present and I love it. However, my inner child erupted and I screamed out loud when I opened the mini Super Nintendo Ty gave me. I am pretty sure it only took me 3 weeks to beat Zelda, bucket list check! Plus I love seeing Ty down stairs playing it with Brynlee. It's super cute.

Love this pup too! Just sitting watching the thunderstorm together.

Memorial weekend started a huge project for us.
Cutting sod and starting the garden prep. At Home Depot, as we were waiting in line to rent a sod cutter, some dude offered to let us use the one we he was returning but still had time left on it. It saved us a bunch of money and he was super cool about it. That day was a lot of work and we were all working hard. Brynlee and I worked side by side helping each other roll up and move the grass. She was a rockstar and didn't complain. We found a bunch of these brown chrysalis things and worms and stuff. It was cool. Another cool thing, there was a huge yellow butterfly flying around and I put my hand up and it legit landed on my hand. I wish I would've had more composure to not jump when it touched me but I didn't and it flew away. Ty got an early anniversary gift, a wheelbarrow which he was excited about. He didn't have a good week because of job hunting and interviews, so I thought maybe that might cheer him up, it worked a bit.
The garden will be awesome when it's finished. Lots of work ahead of us to get there though. Eventually we will have the existing planter box turned into a covered sand box and we will add planter boxes for our actual garden with gravel walkways and the front west corner of the garden is going to be expanded even more to be a spot for a fire pit. Like I said, lots of work but it'll be worth it.

Lunch with my sibs (no Britt though). Sublime Cafe. Glad we love each other enough to get together.

Playing hostess and having brunch with the Terrific Trio. Didn't get a pic but it's always time well spent when I get to see Erica/Patcho and Crystal/Gimpo.

Ty started applying for new jobs. His last official day at American Express will be June 29th. It's getting real now.
