July ~ A golf tee. A bat girl bracelet. A High Fit sweatband.

Drum roll please..........
.......
Ty got a new job!!
After one week of being unemployed (which was really really hard for him and us), he got a job offer on Friday the 6th!! He will be working for WesTech Engineering as a purchasing agent, starting in one week. He is ecstatic and we are all so relieved and happy! He had several interviews that week and he even decided to skip out on some 4th of July festivities so he could get a good nights sleep for some of those interviews. We are all so glad this week is over and we can start with a fresh perspective! Ty wanted to celebrate with dinner so we went to Tepanyaki and we stuffed our bellies with goodness at Menchies afterwards. It was a good day! So proud of him.

The week he was home before he started his new job was so much better than the week he was unemployed. He cleaned the toy room and Brynlee's room, he made funeral potatoes and seriously didn't know what to do with himself. It was actually kind of funny.

Spending time with these crazy people for Enzo and Kingston's birthdays and hanging out with Mom as she recovers from shoulder surgery. It was so fun. Like old times, we got outside and played a bit of barefoot soccer. All the kiddos and some of us adults. My feet and shins were so bruised and beat up but it was all totally worth it.

Scaly and furry friends.
PSA, snakes stink! Caught him in my parents garden. He was completely wrapped around my arm and then some. Ty was a bit uneasy and didn't want to touch it.
Say hello to my little friend.
Got to help a neighbor take care of their chickens while they were out of town. Stumbled upon this one day in their back yard.

County pool swimming. This became a new tradition. Can't beat $2 Mondays and so we go!
Brynlee's first time going off the high dive this summer too! I don't think she would've done it if her cousins weren't there cheering her on.

High Jump with the Thomas crew. Those sumo suits were stinkin' hilarious! It took forever to get them on and they fell over in them it was hecka funny to watch them stand back up. I got to snuggle Dayne most of the time so I was happy.

July 4th ~ Independence Day
Started with High Fitness of course. Then it was a BBQ with the Thomas Fam, Dayne snuggles, then  we dropped Ty off at home so he could go to bed and Brynlee and I went to Mimi and Papa's for Uncle TyTy's firework extravaganza. It's like his favorite holiday so we got quite the show, combined with the neighbor down the street doing at least $5000 worth of fireworks too.

Another joyous occasion to celebrate. Brynlee had a tooth that was basically jammed in her mouth and we tried to get it out for months and months. It would wiggle and then stop. So off to the dentist we go. She had to have it pulled. She was so dang brave and I'm so proud of her. 3 shots and she braved through the third one in the roof of her mouth. That had to hurt so bad. Dr. McGowan used the pliers and it came right out. It was a sight to see with her mouth being numb. She was adorable even though she couldn't smile straight, talk normal and she dropped ramen out of her mouth when trying to eat lunch. She bit her cheek though which was not so fun and there was a nasty hole in her cheek for awhile. When the meds started wearing off she couldn't stop itching her face and she kept saying that was the worst part and didn't like it. Lucky girl though, she got to have a sleepover with Mc that night and the tooth fairy still found her and gave her a kit kat and $2.

Temple and Family pics. We did both these shoots in the same day and both Ty and Brynlee were NOT happy with me. I figured we might as well get them over with. I am very well aware the temple pictures are cheesy, corny, lame, whatever you want to call it. I'd always wanted to do them, not 100% sure why, but I knew if I didn't do them I'd regret it. They were supposed to be for our 10th anniversary, however, between vacations, buying and selling a house, moving, planning Brynlee's baptism, etc, it didn't happen last year. Such as life right? Well it's also such as life that after curling hair, shoving myself into my dress, getting Brynlee in her baptism dress and making Ty lace it up (he had no clue), ironing, makeup, etc...when we finally got down to the temple the grounds were closed!!!! Ugh, I was so sad. It was like pulling teeth to get my family to do these and now we weren't even going to be able to recreate the pictures from our wedding day that I wanted. That's how life is right? It just doesn't work out how it's planned to sometimes. And you have to learn to roll with it or you'll never be happy. So we made due and this is what we came up with. I only posted a few of my favorites.

The piggy back rides were supposed to be a recreation of wedding day pics.

Attempted to re create the twirling picture but Ty insisted it not be up on the pedestal because height fall over... the joys of aging.

All something to represent us. A golf tee. A bat girl bracelet. A High Fit sweatband.

Loved being silly with them.
It's hard to see but my Baby T necklace from The Land of Salt.
It used to represent a dream of another baby in our family and now it represent the completion of our family with the three herkimer diamonds.

Me just being me. Cheesy, silly, curled hair, pink lipstick, aviators, tennis shoes, and rocking my high fit sweatband.

Another zoo day with the Thomas tribe.

One day when I had to work, Brynlee got to hang out with her friend Lea all day and they went swimming.

Just found her like this one morning before we had to leave.

Sleepover, swimming and Thanksgiving Point with the Thomas girls.

Arctic Circle after hitting up the library.

Cents of Style: Break it Down the Sequel
Good to hang out with some friends for a night and be girlie and shop. I won a free Laser Hair Removal from Elase plus they gave us all a free facial from Elase as well. Super awesome. On top of getting to do High with the Utah Gurus and owners they had Protein Foundry cater it soo... all in all it was a great night!

Early birthday present for Ty. He wanted a truck bed cover so a bunch of family pitched in and we gave it to him before we went to St. George so we could take the truck and not have to worry about our stuff getting wet if it rained or stolen, etc. That thing was not as easy as they said it would be to install. It took us 2 hours-ish to get it on there.

Off to St. George we went. Grandma and Grandpa Brown rode down with us and we learned a lot on the way down there. Grandpa Brown basically had something to say about every city or middle of nowhere place we drove through. I didn't know Utah has volcanoes or that Fillmore used to be Utah's capital city. Fillmore also grows mushrooms and G & G have basically eaten at every restaurant along the I-15 corridor. Also, I learned Ty rear ended Erik and Janalee's camping trailer when he was 16 and a new driver.
First night in St. Geezy we ate pizza, played Codenames (making fun of Justin saying random stuff like "thumbs in Tokyo" and Meagan's "change in bottles" comments), played some pickelball and headed off to bed.

I was awake by 7:30 so I went running and snapped a pretty pic of the sun saying hello for the morning!

Spent the day on Saturday swimming, diving for toys, trying to stand on Ty's shoulders, chillin' in my tube, Leila peeing on the concrete, laying out, coloring (Ty was pretty into it) and just relaxing.
Ty tried to gift me a dead beetle. Yum....
Island Grinds for lunch, painting little girls toes, more food, then off to Tuacahn to see Cinderella. We were a bit worried it was going to rain us out but it held out for us.
Too short of a trip. Crepery for breakfast and then off back home.

Learning how to roller blade. These girls don't do anything without the other.

My Mother's Day gift! We both absolutely loved it! Such a good show, even better than the movie. The movie is still really good though. They swore a couple times and Brynlee looked at me like "what? why did they just say that?" Good teaching experience. She sat through the whole thing and afterwards I embarrassed her by saying I was going to ask Jack Kelly if he would give her a kiss. I had to apologize later for that one cause she really did get embarrassed.

Jeremiah Johnson ~ Activity Day Camp
So lucky I got to drive some girls up there and hang out with them.

Archery was Brynlee's favorite part.

BB guns.

Pulling a handcart, panning for gold, rope riddles, limbo, freeze tag, lunch, the general store, making beaded necklaces, singing songs and, ropes course, sweating and being really stinky. Lots of fun to be had. They had a blast. We played the ABC game the whole way home. Great way to pass the time.

Family night at the Hokulia.

High Fitness 70's Summer ~ Get your Shine on kick off.

Mike and Janet came home and it was a real treat to go welcome them back home at their homecoming. However, they had limited time to speak because there were so many people there it took a huge chunk of time to even pass the sacrament. I was bummed they couldn't speak longer. Mike talked about being pierced, filled and immersed. "The ping pong ball analogy". Janet told a touching story of a girl who, by divine intervention, met the missionaries and learned she could be forgiven for a difficult thing in her past that she had carried for 6 years.

Pioneer day we spent here at our house with my family. Just kicked back, ate, and played Psych.

Something worth remembering (not funny at the time but funny now), Ty left 3 bags of frozen raw beef in his truck overnight. Well, needless to say, when he got up for work the next morning and remembered he was really ticked off and frustrated. Yick... He was not a happy camper that day.
