August ~ Birthdays, School, Reunion and Summers end.

Funtopia. 20 ft high climbing wall gym for kids. The kid was a bit hesitant at first but she eventually got the hang of it and would go all the way to the top. She like me to time her to see how fast she could do it. I think her fastest was 11 seconds from bottom to top and back down. We also finished school shopping that day and among the favorites are a sloth shirt and unicorn shirt.

WesTech company party.
Dinner, games, dunk tank, bounce house/toys, grab bags.
Drive in movie. Christopher Robin & Antman and the Wasp.
Brynlee didn't make it through the second movie.
It was cool getting to meet the people Ty works with.
They had a silent auction and we got some admissions to Scales and Tales.

Minute to win it games.

If once is good, the next time is better. So true. Skydiving the second time around was more nerve wracking at first but then the actual dive was 10x better than the first! I loved it.
Before the dive.

After the dive. The difference adrenaline makes in your smile is fascinating.

Love having this chick in class. It's not often and I don't always get to spend time with her but I sure love her.

So I'm not sure what this was all about. Some kind of Wonder Woman/Batgirl show in our driveway but they had the whole thing planned out.

What kind of crazy person wakes up before the sun during the summer just to work out at 6am? Apparently me and a whole bunch of other crazy humans. High Fitness is worth it.

All set up and ready to go for our Primary party Summer bash.
Although we ruined a couple spots in the lawn it was worth seeing these kids outside the walls of the church. They are spunky, fun, some are reserved and shy but they are all friends and love to have a good time.

That water was clean at one point! It got so muddy though from going from the slip n slide into the pool and repeating. They all had a water bottle with sunglasses and treats. We ate pizza, cupcakes, jammed out to music and had a good time spraying them down.

We figured since we had all the stuff up we might as well invite all the cousins over and let the adults go have a date night. We cleaned and refilled the pool water cause it was disgusting!! Those Williamson kids were all freezing by the end of the day and we had to get them dressed in whatever clothes we could find to keep them warm. It's par for the course that Enzo ends up wearing some of Brynlee's clothes, too bad it wasn't leggings this time though. Ty is pretty proud of his projector setup in the toy room. We've watched lots of movies down there and the kiddos love it.

Mama Brynlee.

Hello Mister Toby. I love him. He's so handsome.

We had a big party at our house with the Thomas side for Makinzie, Papa, Kim, Brynlee and Ty's birthdays.

Sporting her new heely's (couldn't wait to put them on). She was so excited and nervous at the same time but she has picked up on them and does pretty good.

One year Highversary and 70's end of summer bash.
It was rocking! Seriously, so much energy I was smiling and laughing from ear to ear.

Mom and Dad came before class and brought me flowers. It made me cry and made my night too! One of my cute friends, Justine, I've met through High Fitness also found out my favorite treat and brought it to me in class. Plus, Ty gave me some junior mints to say congrats. It was such a great time and I'm so grateful for what High has brought into my life.

Staycation! I needed to get away from life for a minute so we splurged and Ty booked us a room at the Little America hotel. For dinner we walked to Market Street Grill to gobble up some scrumptious seafood. Aw... it was so nice to seriously just leave life behind for a bit and spend time with my honey. We got breakfast served to us in the morning and it was fabulous and wonderful and amazing.  Why have we never done this before? Beats me. Our room had a balcony that was pretty high up and Ty was a little sketched out by it but it didn't bug me at all. We scrounged around the gift shop and found a little something for Brynlee so she would know we were thinking of her.

Neighborhood water party.
Dunk tank that the kids loved, lots of games, we helped with the orbeez which were super cool. The best part was the fire truck that sprayed us all. It was so fun and so cold but so worth it. They got called out on a fire right after they were done with our party.

The Lawrence side party for Ty, Brynlee and Alina. Served up some Mo' Bettahs per Ty's request. Take special note of Enzo laying down but still wanting to play in his spot of dirt. Apparently it took too much energy and he was tired. Cheesecake for Ty's taste buds and some cupcakes and ice cream to finish it off.

One of our last days before summer break was over. Pedicures, Del Taco and kiddie cones. Much needed Mama and Daughter time without any other things to interrupt. She wasn't quite sure what to think about the pedicure but she was just happy to get her nails painted too.

One last hoorah over night at the property in Fairview with Mimi and Papa and the cousins.
They got to play in a mud hole, probably eat as much junk as possible and hang out in the trailer.

First day of 3rd Grade ~ Herriman Elementary ~ Miss Cady
We were all a bit nervous this year because we had no idea who her teacher was going to be but we got to meet her a couple days before school started and felt a bit better about the new year. Brynlee loves her teacher and is already learning new things. She absolutely hates school lunch this year too.
Three weeks before school started she already had her outfit for the first two days of school picked out. She was so excited to be going back to school, once it finally got here. At first it was nerves, then excitement. The morning came and she was up and at 'em without much prodding. That didn't last long, like maybe a few days is all.

We walked with Kam and Brandy. Well the girls rode their scooters. They were stressing about how they were going to find each other after school this year because they were at different doors now. It really wasn't that big of a deal but I guess it was to them.

Waiting in line with her class to go inside. She kept looking back to make sure I was still there. I didn't leave until I couldn't see her anymore. Compared to last year she didn't look for me as much and didn't really look back as she walked in the doors either.

That evening we had our annual Circle BBQ but it was absolutely pouring rain! So we just invited everyone over and set up in the garage. It was perfect and lovely to watch the rain and lightning too.

R&R BBQ with these weirdos was a good time. Being of the Lawrence/Lindquist gene pool we had to satiate our sweet tooth with a visit to Menchie's as well. Laughed a lot and makes me love these freaks even more.

Happy Birthday Brynlee Jade! 9 years old doesn't seem real!
We decided to give her her gifts a day earlier than her birthday because we didn't want to wake he rup before Ty left for work (too early) and we wouldn't have time after school since we were going to the reunion right after. Well one gift bag that had a mini back pack in it that contained a book, DC female super hero jammies, and.... the piece de resistance.... her gizmo watch. She could not even contain herself. It was like the best day of her life. She had to tell and show everyone all about it. It sure was a sight to see her open it. Haha!

Since her birthday was on a school day and Ty had the day off, we went to the school and had lunch with her. Sloppy joes and fries. She is always such a weirdo and loves having us there but acts shy about it. I'll do it until she tells me to stop.

Made our way to the Dillon Reunion at Soldier Hollow by Deer Creek Reservoir. Another quick trip but so fun to get up in the mountains and out of the smokey valley (it's been a summer of fires and terrible air from all the smoke). We left on Brynlee's birthday so we did cupcakes when we got up there and she was so excited to show everyone her watch but we made her take it off because we didn't want it getting dirty or ruined.

She could play corn hole...all...day...long. She's pretty decent at it too. Better than me anyway.

Initiations. We had a handful of them this year so it was awesome!

Hike to Cascade Springs. It was like a beautiful little fairy garden in some areas.

We played volleyball (which was so dang fun - always one of the highlights for me), corn hole, ladder ball and just hung out. Played a new game called Sushi Go.
The nights were not my favorite. We tented it. Friday night was awfully irritating since Toby kept walking around the tarp and wouldn't just lay down, Brynlee had to get up and pee and peed on her jammies (and probably on Ty's shoe too) since we just had to go out behind the tent. Then she was awfully upset she had to change her leggings and couldn't find her underwear so she had to just wear a change of leggings and threw a ginormous fit. Beautiful night I tell ya.
The next night was hot (the first night was cold...?), windy and rainy. All terrible conditions for tenting it. Oh well, made for a really awesome nights sleep when we finally got home and went to bed to start the week.

Surprised Ty at his work on his birthday with a whole bag full of treats! It really surprised him though. He wasn't expecting to see me at all. It was fun to see his desk, where he works everyday, his co workers. Never got to do that at AmEx. He got the birthday necklace and I made him put it on for a picture. After work when he walked in the door Brynlee and I jumped out from behind the counter and and yelled Happy Birthday! She couldn't stop giggling. We gave him his presents: cologne, clothes and some handheld hummingbird feeders and Brynlee wrote him a card. He wanted taco bowls, ask and ye shall receive.

On Ty's birthday, it was a Tuesday this year, Brynlee had to go to school by herself because Kambria was sick and not going to school. She asked if she could ride her bike and I said ok. Well that morning getting ready for school she was as sweet as could be. As she rode off on her bike she yelled back to me, "I love you mom. Have a good day!" It was a moment that seemed to stand still and I'm so grateful for those because they're rare and I know it's one I'll keep in my accessible memories forever. That moment that stood still, I just saw her in a different light. I saw a grown up 9 year old, going to school by herself for the very first time in her whole life and she was doing it with confidence and by her own choice. Where did my little girl, my toddler, my baby, my newborn go? How has time gone by fast enough that she doesn't need me on a 10 minute bike ride to get to school in the morning? She knows the way, she wasn't afraid, didn't need to hold my hand or anything. It broke my heart and at the same time made it swell into my throat and I had to choke it back. She rode off and I hopped in my car to go to work. I passed her and honked and I noticed she had slowed down to wait for me. Before she left I asked her if she would call me when she got to school (her Gizmo tells me when she gets there but I just wanted to make sure). She said, "I'll think about it the whole way so I don't forget to call you." Sure enough, she calls me and her little voice says, "I'm just putting my bike away now." Seriously, she probably felt so responsible and grown up. Again I had to choke back the lump in my throat. It's not going to be long now... not long at all. I couldn't resist meeting her at the park after school was out. It surprised her, she didn't even see me and rode right past but I called out her name and it startled her. So we rode home together, me on her scooter and her on her bike, until she got a thorn and we had to walk. Such a good memory.

These cuties planned to match for school. Even had it all picked out the night before.
