Zoo day on Labor Day with the Lawrence crew. We sent the kid and stayed home to finish some house projects. Working on the massage room and it is mostly done. Painted, new baseboards, and a few other touches and it'll be there.
Thomas Family pics.
Fall pics on the hottest fall day ever... and windy too. When we got there we noticed smoke coming from the direction of Herriman. We were a bit worried and the fire ended up not being terribly far away. About 20 blocks away is all.
Hayes Tough Foundation Fundraiser
Crystal and I put together a High Fitness class and donated all the funds to this foundation to support our friend Justine and her little boy that was diagnosed with cancer. It was a blast. We had a raffle and everyone left with something. So many friends and family donated and we raised over $700 to give to the foundation. Plus we met lots of new friends and instructors too.
Reading her new book, Smile, with her fancy new book light. She read that book 5 million times and I finally had to force her to start reading other books.
Why don't we teach kids to write cursive anymore? Brynlee loves it.
Found this gem hidden in the kitchen. Apparently the kids were playing a game to find the golden snitch.
Uncle Ty Ty and Noah's birthday party.
We were invited to the Hayes Tough Foundation Dream Ball down at Trolley Square with Justine and Sam Teare and Crystal and Adam. It really was a dream. It was not just fun to get dressed up all fancy but to be a part of something like that was really cool. They highlighted several kids with cancer (some of which couldn't be there because they were too sick) and showed videos of making a dream come true for each kid. Ty enjoyed it because there were a bunch of Ute football players, swag on auction, and some of the RSL players were there. He even said something to Jason Glad. Ty and I had never been to a special occasion of that kind. There was a live and silent auction. I tried to get us a trip to Hawaii but I got out bid ツ Would've been a sweet deal.
Got to teach a quick demo at the Herriman Wellness Fair with this cute girl. It was fun and something different. I was definitely exhausted though because I had just taught a full High class that morning.
So grateful to have a job that I can work around small but important events like this for Brynlee. Parents and pastries. She was so happy I could go and so was I.
Women's Conference. I got us all tickets this year and I'm so glad I got another chance to take Brynlee down to see the prophet. He gave my favorite talk and I'm so blessed to know we are in good hands because I know he is a prophet of God. It is tangible, you can feel his love and spirit when he speaks. We ended the night with some sweets from The Chocolate and it was packed and soo hot! I had to take off my tights cause I was burning up.
As for General Conference, it was an historic one. President Nelson announced that beginning 2019 church would be shifting to 'home centered, church supported'. Meaning 2 hour church and more home study. Brynlee could absolutely not believe it and it took her a long basically all month to stop asking why they changed it because she likes 3 hour church and "Now we have to do more church at home!" The curriculum will be synced so everyone throughout the world is learning all together. Being the Laman and Lemuel I sometimes am, I was not immediately excited about having to do more church at home either. It was one more thing on my plate and it would fall on me to make sure it happens every week. I'm sure it will all work out because this is His church and I just try to do my best.
Finally got us a piano and Brynlee hasn't stopped tinkering around on it since I brought it home. Best part? It has headphones!!! #momwin Excited to get her lessons and hopefully she loves it. It just makes me happy when I walk by it to see a musical instrument in my home. I've wanted to also take lessons so hopefully I can make the time, even if it's slow progress.
After living here for 15 months, I finally put stuff up on my walls in the front room. When I asked Ty if he liked it he said, "Yeah it actually looks like a front room." My bad that it took so long but oh well...
This little ray of sunshine is seriously so tiny. 5% in weight and 10% in height. In her Dr.'s words, she's a well proportioned human. Good eyes, healthy body, smart and growing great!
Traditional Cornbelly's adventures. Corn Cob Beach, riding tractors, hay ride, food, zip lines, slides and this year we got to see some stunt men riding motorcycles in a steel ball. Super cool. We lost Enzo and McKinley for a hot minute (not at the same time) and that was intense.
Ward Halloween Carnival.
One of the most amazing moments of my Massage Therapy career. My sweet friend Stephanie Strong reached out to me end of September asking if I would help her with massage during her labor. I was humbled and shocked and felt utterly unprepared despite it being a dream of mine to be able to do this for someone. She was the perfect person to start with. It was such a beautiful experience. Her beautiful baby boy came into this world 7 hours after I got there (much longer labor for his Mama than that). I was able to help relieve some pain during contractions and help her labor naturally for as long as she could. What an amazing moment when a new baby comes to this earth. It was surreal, like the veil was very thing, like angels were in the room, and like something so pure had just occurred. I'll never forget it.
Cause this is Thriller! Thriller Nights! Brynlee wasn't sure what to think about the Zombies at first but they didn't scare her like I thought they might. She loved it and thought the dancers were so great.
Annual pumpkin carving at Grandma and Grandpa Brown's.
Scare Rodeo with the Lawrence cousins. Complete with games, the Troll Stroll, the Haunted Maze, donuts and hot chocolate. The group picture in front of the Frankenstein, Brynlee is being sad because that's what Eeyore does.
Halloween High.... yes please!
This was so fun. The energy was through the roof! Crystal and I wore those masks through the whole class and it was sweaty, plus it rubbed my nose raw. Such a good time.
Halloween School Parade. She still didn't want to look at me but she begrudgingly did.
Happy Halloween. Met up with the Lawrence family for a short round of trick or treating and festivities and then headed home to finish off trick-or-treating for the night.
Trick or treating with the Bestie.
Isn't this one of the best parts of Halloween.
Other festivities included Grandma Cookie's birthday party at Murray Park.
Ty spoke in church and forgot his talk so he had to go home and grab it.
Seeing 'A House with a Clock in its Walls.' Uh, kinda Satanic in some parts and it gave Brynlee a nightmare when Isaac Izzard was creeping around in the neighbors house in the window.
Cleaning at Grandma Thomases for her birthday. We chopped a ton of her pine tree branches off, cleaned the ivy, raked leaves, pulled plants, etc. Lots of work but glad we can help.
Just like that, Fall is over.
