Last year of the decade. Holy moly. Curious to see what this year brings for us.
All good things right?
Kicked off the year with High Fitness, of course!
Got to teach with a bunch of these fun Instructors. Why am I always the weird one posing in pictures? Haha
Sometimes you have packed classes and sometimes you only have one participant and that's ok.
But most of my Project Dance classes look like this most of the time. Just a handful of ladies trying to get a good workout in to start the week.
Needed a change and a quick one at that. I "lob" it! 7 inches gone.
Why not also start the year with food poisoning? I had thawed some chicken and put it in the fridge for a couple days. Big mistake. Brynlee and I were so sick and my stomach wasn't right for a couple weeks at least. She woke up puking about 3 am and didn't quite make it to the toilet so I was up cleaning and then it hit me around 9 am. Yuck! It was so bad. Only time I drink soda is when I get stomach bugs. Sprite is the only thing I can keep down and it feels good in my stomach. When I get sick like that it hurts my neck and low back so bad, like excruciating pain and the only thing that helps is a heating pad. It hurts to lay, sit, and move at all.
I spent several days going through old papers and documents we didn't need anymore and shredding them. Seriously, days.... It was ridiculous and a few times I thought I almost busted the shredder but it was a champ. Had to take a few breaks to let it cool down though. So much paper!
Just Brynlee being Brynlee. She loves the carts at Smith's Marketplace. Started piano lessons with Paige Norton doing the Jon Schmidt method, her goal is to learn how to play Waterfall. By the second lesson she was playing both hands. Super proud of her. Life with Kambria is better. Those two are inseparable. One of her other favorites is to read and I love that Toby just hangs out with her. Let's take note of the Eeyore pj's that will fit her for basically her whole life.
Grandma Edeltraud was staying with Mom and Dad trying to recover from being sick and we all went to see her. It's the first time Brynlee has ever met her and I'm glad she got to. Not even 10 minutes of being there Grandma offered me her uterus since she didn't need it anymore and she had heard they were doing uterus transplants now days. I politely declined but it was good to talk to her and listen to her tell us stories of Dad when he was growing up.
More High Fitness shenanigans celebrating Crystals 2 year Highversary with a glow party. That was one of the funnest classes we have put on to date! Such a good time.
And he says he never takes naps? Age has changed him.
He actually has been really tired for good reason. His boss basically pulled him into his office and told him he has a new position for him and had negotiated a raise for him and wanted him to start ASAP. He started the new position 6 months exactly from when he started at WesTech and Ty was really shocked. He had just gotten comfortable doing his other job and now it was time to put on more pressure. I'm so proud of him though. He handles those things like a champ and learns so quickly. Even though he is super tired because it's emotionally and mentally draining.
Other things of note:
Teaching High for the Power Moms workout group and Ashley Butler inviting me over for pancakes afterward. It was a moment that made me feel like I belong in this neighborhood and ward. Making friends hasn't been easy for me this go around for some reason.
Church seems so short because of only 2 hour meetings now. It was kind of weird and we have yet to figure out a schedule that works for doing the Come Follow Me at our house but I'm sure we will get there. Ty and I teach the Sunbeams this year. Oh man, I will tell say, after the first class of the year I went home and fell asleep. I was so exhausted. Our classroom is the tiny closet room right next to the primary room and it has no windows and two sets of light switches. Well we have a cute little down syndrome boy that found the light switches and the first time he turned them off the whole class went crazy. Plus a mom of one other kid that is brand new (they are actually our new neighbors) sat with him in class and we had so many people in there. It was super warm and I was nervous because I really don't believe I do well with lots of little kids like that. Ty was just trying to help with our little DS boy and keeping the lights on. We have some darling kids in there and I'm glad it's only 20 minutes but I never thought I would go home as exhausted as I did after trying to teach the sunbeams for 20 minutes. Wow. Once we went to singing time our little Calvin kept wanting to get to the microphone so I took him to the back of the room and tried to keep him entertained and from running to the front of the room. Hopefully it gets better and we can find some sort of routine. We've asked to move to a bit bigger room and one that has a window so we can just keep the lights off. The Primary President kind of said to me before we left that first Sunday that our class was the only one that they knew who the teachers would be and she was like, "Please don't hate me." Lucky us, we are supposed to be with this class for a reason. One little girl fell asleep in my arms during singing time once this month and that made my heart happy.
One more Magna friend party. A couple people showed up this year. Heather Hamp and her fiancé, Marie Roe, and Karen Morlock. I'm glad they took the time to come see me. Love those girls.
