Women's Conference and Mimi's Cafe afterwards.
Always love the feeling I get in this place and hanging out with Tisha and Mc. Enjoyed some spiritual food and yummy hot chocolate, muffins and dinner too.
If it weren't for Auntie Tisha, my coolness level would be hovering just above zero. She found out Raina Telgemeier was coming to the Provo Library so we surprised both of the girls and we HAD to take the girls. So for the 3rd time since June I trucked it down to Provo and we had such a great time. Shannon Hale and LeUyen Pham were also there. They spoke to the audience and asked questions, then we got to take a photo. We were basically the first ones in line so we got front row seats and the girls just soaked it in!
October wouldn't be complete without our couples Halloween High at Crystal's house. Where's Wanda for me this year. Such a good time! Doing High Fitness on the grass is so much harder than it looks. Tisha and Mark joined us this year as Wayne and Garth. So much fun! Crystal is about ready to have this baby and I am so excited for her.
Got to watch the Men's SLCC soccer team play at the Zion's bank RSL Academy just down the street here in Herriman.
One normal Saturday night I made myself some ice cream with some melted semisweet chocolate chips. I didn't much care for the hardened chocolate in my ice cream so I pushed it off to the side and set my bowl on the ground. Usually I take my dishes to the sink before heading off to bed. This time I forgot. Sunday morning was business as usual, getting ready and going to church and upon coming home, I walked in the house and saw my ice cream bowl on the floor. I picked it up and realized it was completely empty, not a single drop of ice cream or chocolate from the night before were left in my bowl. The culprit, Toby. There was quite a bit of chocolate in that bowl so after a bit of deliberation on what to do we decided to take him to the Vet. We didn't know what time he had eaten it. It could have been at midnight or right before we got home from church. Well $100, dog puke and a loopy Toby, we were home and he is fine. Seriously.... I felt like I almost killed my dog. He was on meds that are the human equivalent of morphine so he was lethargic and didn't move much. So sad, totally my fault.
More Halloween High with Left Shark and two bodacious Life Guards. My shirt was delivered about an hour before I was supposed to leave for class... phew! So much fun. We started the 'warmup' with the Jaws theme and had Trenton come in with his shark suit part way through and we blew our whistles and 'saved everyone'! Haha! So cheesy but oh so fun. One of my favorites for sure. Plus we had a huge crowd and I got to see some of my favorite Magna friends!
We got news from Bodoy Logic that their lease was up at the end of this month and that we needed to find a new place. For days we looked and looked for a space. Called and talked to so many people. A cute friend from Walker Edison recommended we check out YIN Wellness. So we did and we decided it was right for us! Looking forward to a fresh start in a new place.
*~* Disneyland with the Thomas Tribe *~*
October 19th ~ 26th
Long Beach
He curses me for making him take this picture anytime we're on a beach but I will insist upon this every. single. time. We stayed in an airbnb and drove to the park. I'm pretty sure I'll never do that again. Parking is SOOO expensive and it was still a huge walk to get out of the parking garage to the trams.
Disney day #1
Star Wars land was STELLAR! Like walking into a different world/time. We spent most of our time with Uncle Drew since we didn't have littles that needed naps and diapers changed, etc.
Goofy's Kitchen with the Fam.
Space Mountain was shut down and we decided to hang out anyway.
Day #2
Guardians of the Galaxy is by far the favorite! We rode it several times.
Oogie Boogie Bash was something new. Cool part was that while everyone was out trick-or-treating and standing in lines, we were riding rides. We rode Guardians of the Galaxy and then after it was over, the Disney worker asked us if we wanted to go again, like immediately. No need to even get off! We got to ride it two times in a row! Then as we were getting off the ride we caught the beginning of the parade and walked along the parade route to get to the next ride! Couldn't have planned it better myself!
Day #3
Brynlee got to meet Rey (and was super shy about it at first) and chose a Porg as her souvenir.
I was mainly looking forward to eating my way through Disney this go around and Uncle Drew introduced me to the Disney app and ordering your food through the app and just picking it up. Best idea ever! Macarons, cakes, beignets, La Brea Bakery Hot Chocolate, Jack Skellington cake pop, Jack Jack's cookie nom nom, Darth by parfait, churros galore, pretzels and all the yumminess.
We busted away from the group one day to go to Universal Studios. It was worth it to go once to visit Harry Potter Land for the experience and try the Butter Beer. I'm willing to drink some just to have one of those. So tasty. We ate lunch at the Three Broomsticks. Sometimes I wish magic was real. The Mummy was a favorite and so was Jurassic World. Other than that I think we're good to not go back. It was good for a day. The VooDoo Donuts were worth it too.
Newport Beach was probably the most fun I had all trip long. The moment I walked into the water I got choked up. It makes my soul come alive. We only spent a couple hours thereabout you better believe I was in the water floating and diving through the waves. I stayed in the ocean basically the whole time and my left hand was starting to go numb I was so cold. Drew gave Brynlee a sand dollar and we collected some fun seashells.
Dinner at Malarky's was freezing inside but tasty food. I cranked the heater up in the car while were waiting for the guys to get the checks. It was like a sauna.
Target run and the typical red ball picture for Brynlee.
Going home. Always so bittersweet.
....and this is what we came home to.... SNOW! I had a mental meltdown and died a little inside.
Brynlee's 10 year old check up. Healthy girl and best thing that came out of that appt was Dr. Sadie explained to Brynlee why having a cell phone is absolutely out of the question at her age. We are thinking age 14 but we will see how life goes.
Riverton Scare Rodeo with the cousins. Such a cheap, fun activity with the Troll Stroll, carnival games, and the Haunted Rodeo grounds.
More Halloween fun with trick-or-treating at WesTech. This year we let the girls go walk around by themselves. It's nice to have an older kid that can do some things on their own. Kam and Brynlee were Luna and Hermione this year and they got the actual wands for their character.
School Halloween parade was FREEZING cold! At least she gave me the time of day this year. She actually looked at me and waved!
God is good. When we moved to our house in Herriman, I lost my favorite belt. I looked and looked for it to no avail. I was having a particularly hard time (coming back to the cold weather from vacation and just some other emotional difficulties) and I stumbled upon this in my shoe organizer of all places. I knew I had shoved it somewhere when we moved but couldn't remember where. I had given up hope so this was a seriously pleasant surprise.
Halloween Day
We let these girls go out trick-or-treating partly on their own. They got a little scared and didn't stay out too long. Mimi and Papa came to visit too!
Ty decided it was time to take the sticker off the car. He started driving it more and decided it needed to come off. I still see these stickers around the valley on the rare occasion. Miss that girl.
