You win some - You lose some

You can't be perfect at everything.
The Chicken Parmesan recipe I attempted to make was awful!!!! I left the rice in too long and it was mushy so needless to say it turned to sludge.
What happens when I make meals that are less than horrible?
We start making funny faces at the dinner table because nobody wants to eat!
See below.....

I am privileged to know some really cool people in this world.  A lot of these people have gone through some crazy times and have persevered through many trials. My good friend Allison is one of them! She is so awesome. We went to lunch together the other day and we just picked up right where we left off after years of not seeing/talking to each other! Miss her to pieces!

Happy #5 to me and Ty
We planned a big weekend for our 5th Anniversary.
Despite certain challenges and issues everything turned out really great.
We started off with The Roof Restaurant which is always a delectable meal with live piano music and a beautiful view of the temple! Loved the Cristifori's Dream song!

Meet the Bromley's!
They were sitting next to us and they were celebrating their 50th Anniversary.
WOW!!!
I asked Richard what the secret to 50 years was and he said, "Get in a rut and stay there!" It made us both laugh. They were so sweet. Apparently their Wedding Brunch was held at the Roof which was previously known as the Starlight room. I thought that was really neat.

After our wonderful dinner ( I actually cheated and had some creme brulee and chocolate dipped strawberries which were tasty) we walked around Temple Square, reminiscing about our wedding day and visiting the spots on the temple grounds where we took our pictures. It was a beautiful day. We met a couple of people and talked to some Sister Missionaries - one from Sweden and the other from Canada. It was such an awesome feeling to just walk around, not having anywhere we had to be or anything we had to do. I didn't worry about anything.

Anniversary Inn - Suite #26 Jackson Hole
Our suite was so cool! It had saloon doors (the little shutter looking doors that swing open) to get to the tub and the shower came out of bottles that were on a shelf above the tub. We slept in a covered wagon, watched a movie, and ate breakfast in bed. FABULOUS!
 City Creek!
This has got to be one of the coolest places in downtown SL.
We shopped, ate and watched them close the retractable ceiling. The fountains were so cool and we even took a peek into Tiffany and Co. Sparkly!!!!! Loved that.
All matchy matchy with our striped shirts and white sunglasses. We didn't plan that. Promise!

Lunch was Bocata. An Italian salad and sandwich place. SOOO YUMMY!
I even ate it with the tomatoes on it! Yeah, I'm branching out, I know!

Mountain Dell Canyon Golf Course
Next stop - Tee Time 1:45
Golfing was sooo fun! I learned a couple of things 1.) I will only ever golf for the fun of it, never to be good and 2.) I will golf for as long as me and Ty can handle it because I love the side of Ty that comes out when he is playing this sport. He is so fun and he knows a lot about it. I won't lie, it's something I find very attractive about my husband as well. Even though he was rusty he is still a really good golfer.

For a beginner I've been told I have a pretty good swing. Our scores Bree: 115 and Ty: 84. When I told Ty my score he laughed and said, " I didn't think you did that bad!" How sweet huh? However, he said that should be a compliment because the way I played didn't seem like I had that many strokes. Oh well, like I said, I'm a beginner.
Roses are my favorite flower and these
 beauties were a wonderful surprise.

So after golfing we ate lunch at Thai Basil which was good too. We wanted to see a movie but show times were too late so we went to Home Depot instead..... Yeah we're that cool! Picked up some paint for the chitlins room and voila, our weekend ended with picking up the kid and coming home to a house with no AC and waking up for early 9am church the next day.
We were exhausted and we had a good weekend.

We started painting last night. Since it is Brynlee's room, we let her help paint. Not quite sure if I like the color, it kinda looks like a Dr.'s office teal but we will see when we get a second coat on it and I decorate. I'm sure I'll end up loving it!

So I've added a few things to my 25th Year To Do List!
2 new restaurants - Thai Basil and Bocata
1 new cultural food - Italian Sandwiches (Bocatas)
1 new golf course - Mountain Dell Canyon Course
1 new Recipe - I made Brisket
I didn't even know Brisket existed before I met Ty just fyi.
1 new house project - Painting Brynlee's room!

Peace and Love!

The new paint color looks good..you need to do some after pics. And since when does Chicken Parm have rice? Next time, just try the chicken and cook your own noodles :) Love you!
